About the Day

A full day for women at work in Sandpoint — owners and employees alike — built around one question: why do smart women undercharge, underbuild, and underprotect, and what changes right now?

Co-hosted by Jennifer Steinbachs and Alisha Kowalski, and in partnership with the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, the morning covers the diagnosis, the financial and behavioral signature behind it, and a panel of local legal, financial, and operations voices. The afternoon is two rounds of breakout sessions, repeated so you don't miss a topic, with a short self-directed work block between them to apply it to your own business. The day closes with an earned happy hour.

Breakout Round 1 — 1:15 PM (choose one session)*

  • Build the systems and structure that allow growth without making you the bottleneck.

Facilitated by Mickey Hemingway, with Samantha Kelley, Kyle Vines, and Sarah Marshall. Practical systems for the parts of your business that shouldn't depend on you remembering everything — workflow, ops, and what to document once so you stop re-deciding it.

  • Tailoring Your Message, Style and Brand

Facilitated by Adrianna Kauffman, with Janel Gion and Michal Schuster. Your visible brand from the inside out — personal style and how you present yourself, photography and web presence that work when you're not in the room, and a social strategy you can actually maintain.

Breakout Round 2 — 3:15 PM (choose one session)*

Partners & Sponsors

Alisha Kowalski

Alisha Kowalski is the Assistant Branch Manager at WaFd Bank in Sandpoint, a Certified Happiness and Life Coach, and the founder of both 7B Happy and the Sandpoint Women's Group. For more than three years, she has been working toward the kind of event she wished existed — one where women entrepreneurs could get practical answers, make real connections, and leave with tools they could actually use. Catalyst is that event, finally made real.

Jennifer Steinbachs

Dr. Jennifer Steinbachs (PhD, ND, DOMPT), Founder of Syringa Wellness, is a research-trained evolutionary biologist turned nervous-system-first clinician who works with midlife women to identify where their capacity has broken down — and build it back. At Catalyst, she brings the physiology layer: why the biology of threat quietly shapes how women price, build, and protect their businesses, and what becomes possible when the nervous system is no longer running on empty.

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is a membership-driven nonprofit representing approximately 350 businesses, civic organizations, and individuals across the greater Sandpoint area. Its mission is to advocate for business development and tourism in the region — through networking, educational programming, and business promotion. Catalyst: Women Entrepreneurs Driving Change is presented in partnership with the Chamber, connecting this event to the broader Sandpoint business community it serves.

Catalyst: Women Entrepreneurs Driving Change brings together professionals and entrepreneurs who want to learn, connect, and move ideas forward. The event creates space for meaningful conversation around leadership, growth, and the experiences shaping women entrepreneurs today. We recognize the generous support of WaFdBank, whose contribution helps make this gathering possible.

Speakers

Sarah Marshall

Sarah Marshall is a business attorney with Skepsis Legal Solutions, where she works with business owners and entrepreneurs to navigate the legal challenges of starting, running, and growing a business. Her path to law is anything but traditional — a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and eight years as a Technical Sales Engineer before she earned her Juris Doctor from Indiana University's Robert H. McKinney School of Law. At Catalyst, she brings the legal layer: how to turn complicated, high-stakes questions into practical next steps, so women can build and protect their businesses with confidence.

Samantha Kelley

Samantha Kelley is a CPA, entrepreneur, and founder of Socair Advisors, a boutique tax planning firm serving business owners, entrepreneurs, and executives who want more from their CPA than a tax return once a year. With more than two decades in the profession — building and selling a CPA practice in Colorado before starting again with a different vision — she has seen entrepreneurship from every angle. At Catalyst, she brings the tax and planning layer: how to move beyond simply earning more to building a business that actually supports the life you want to live.

Mickey Hemingway

Mickey Hemingway is an executive with more than thirty years in store and corporate operations and merchandising — JCPenney, Barnes & Noble, Coldwater Creek, and as CEO of Vanity — and the founder of MK Hemingway Consulting, where she advises Sandpoint businesses and leaders on operations, growth, and personal development. She has also helped build the region's business community through Group Level Up and her leadership work with the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce. At Catalyst, she brings the operations layer: how to close the gap between knowing what needs to be done and actually taking the steps to do it.

Kinsey Hiett

Kinsey Hiett is a passionate leader, entrepreneur at heart, and advocate for women supporting women. With a background in technology, banking, business, and education, Kinsey has built her career at WaFd Bank around leadership, problem-solving, and helping others grow. She brings a unique blend of business experience, creativity, and real-world perspective to everything she does. As a wife and mom, she understands the challenges of balancing family, career, and personal goals, and she believes some of the best opportunities come from women connecting, sharing ideas, and lifting each other up. She’s excited to connect with like-minded women, build meaningful relationships, and be inspired by the incredible women in this community.

Kyle Vines

Kyle Vines is the owner and founder of Talents Bookkeeping, where she helps small business owners gain clarity and confidence in their finances so they can make better decisions and build stronger, more sustainable businesses. She believes bookkeeping should be more than a tax-season requirement — when used well, financial information becomes a tool for understanding what is actually happening inside a business. At Catalyst, she brings the financial clarity layer: how to make business finances feel practical and approachable rather than intimidating, so owners can grow without carrying everything themselves.

Adrianna Kauffman

Adrianna Kauffman is the founder of Adrianna Valentina Consulting, a personal style and image consulting business that helps professionals and business owners use clothing and personal style as a tool for confidence, communication, and success. Her approach is rooted in a degree in Apparel, Textiles, and Design and time spent studying in Florence, Italy — a background that shapes her belief that style is not just what you wear, but how you show up. At Catalyst, she brings the presence layer: how to align your personal image with the brand you want to communicate, and show up fully as who you are.

Janel Gion

Janel Gion is the founder and creative director of JG Creative Studios, where she helps ambitious women founders build personal brands that become known, trusted, and chosen. With more than 20 years in branding, marketing, and creative direction — spanning brand strategy, messaging, website design, and photography — she has spent her career turning expertise into a brand that clearly communicates who you are, what you are known for, and why the right clients choose you. At Catalyst, she brings the brand layer: how to show up at the level of expertise and ambition your business has actually reached, using her Brand of One™ approach to clarify the reputation you want to build and the message behind it.

Michal Emily Schuster

Michal Emily Schuster is a sales and content marketing strategist for coaches and creative entrepreneurs who has built two businesses from scratch — the first from a 30-foot sailboat in the Caribbean, growing a YouTube channel to 40,000 subscribers and six figures, the second driving 10x revenue growth in two years on organic Instagram alone, with no ads, website, or email list. Her signature insight is that content proves who you are, but conversations are where high-ticket clients actually decide to invest — so she teaches coaches to build content that converts, not just content that performs. At Catalyst, she brings the content layer: how to turn visibility into clients, and, as a certified Advanced Trauma-Informed Somatic Practitioner, how to build the regulated nervous system and no-matter-what mindset it takes to keep showing up long enough for the strategy to work.
